Local villages of Otterton (with the Kings Arms and ancient Otterton Mill on the river Otter- both family and pet friendly) and East Budleigh’s Sir Walter Raleigh.The nearest pub is a half mile away - the Dog and Donkey which hosts the local weekly Ukulele get together.
There are also numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants in Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth. Local villages of Lympstone (4 miles) and Topsham (6 miles) along the Exe Estuary are renowned for good restaurants and pubs. With a wonderful cycle route from near the cottage to these villages along the Budleigh to Exmouth Estuary Cycle Trail it makes a great afternoon or day out.
For something a bit different from April to October The Exe Estuary’s floating River Exe Cafe accessible by water taxi from Exmouth Marina is certainly worth a visit.
If you are visiting Beer and Branscombe there are a number of traditional pubs including the Masons arms.
Dartmoor and Exmoor have some very famous, traditional and ancient pubs so if you are visiting there are many worth a visit. Topsham (6 miles), Lympstone (5 miles) and Exeter (11 miles) are all well known for their restaurants.
